Art camp for kids runs for 1 week in June 14-18, 1 week in July 20-24th, and 2 separate weeks in August 3-7 and 17-21st. From sculpture, weaving, sewing, painting and printmaking, we have a busy and creative week in the barn!
After School art classes are offered Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Fall from 4-5:30 and run for 6 week blocks. Saturday morning Art called “Kids Create” meets from 9-12 for 6 week blocks.
Art workshop days are also offered during the year on the days that schools are closed for a Holiday, including MLK day and Presidents Day. We also host Scout troops who can meet in the barn and earn an art badge, as well as birthday painting parties for kids and their friends!
Sally is a retired art teacher from CB West high school. She had a previous career in photojournalism before teaching. She has taught 2D and 3D mediums from Photography to Drawing and Painting. She is a graduate of Moore College of Art. She enjoys teaching students of all ages from elementary to high school. In her spare time she trains and competes her corgi Bryce in AKC agility (pictured above).
This is Cydney’s 4th summer camp with Art in the Barn, she newly graduated from Marymount Manhattan College and now carries a BA in Studio Art with a concentration in Illustration and Animation. Her creativity and talent is amazing! She hopes to start her career in children’s book illustration and art education.
Cynthia is a graduate from Kutztown University with a Bachelors in Fine Arts. Today, she is back at Kutztown to pursue her teaching certification and Masters degree. Pictured here, she is working with children at the Kids Workshop in The Home Depot store. She has also started a business making necklaces for the elderly called Betty’s Beautiful Beads. We are grateful to have Cynthia assist us with our Summer camp this year.
Grace is a Sophmore at westchester University studying to be a elementary school teacher. She has coached children’s jumprope teams and taken them “on the road.” She spends her summers with children K-7 working at the local YMCA. She loves getting to know the chidren that come to make Art and seeing their creativity take over!
